1. Why do you use surface finishes in the interior, considering the range of other solutions available for the surface decor?

The surface finishes appear more natural and authentic. They have broader design capabilities. They look much more vibrant than other materials. They are more functional and durable. For the lovers of change, they can be easily repainted into a different color without any risk of damage. Well, I just like them.☺

2. How does the surface plaster relate to the interior’s style?

A large selection of plasters allows you to support almost any style, whether it's a modern loft with concrete surfaces, a Mediterranean house with "rough stone walls," or a luxurious classic with "stucco" and "frescos". No other material can help create a conceived atmosphere.

3. What are the advantages of using surface finishes as an alternative to natural materials?

It is different on a case base. Sometimes the texture can fill much larger surfaces, maintaining uniform style and a natural, neat appearance. But if we are talking about "wooden slats," "stone," or something like that ... It's hard to say. If the cost is higher or equal to the price of a natural material, then customers may not understand the point of using surface finish. Of course, if it is lower, they will accept it gladly.

4. What is your source of inspiration for using certain textures in the interior?

The choice of texture is dictated by the style of the interior. And it is always different. The main message comes from the customers. Next we work in the direction of the atmosphere they would enjoy.

5. What was the main task you set for the Decor Studio "Faktura.UA" regarding the decorative effects for the interior?

For several rooms, we needed a concrete texture, with pointing in some places. The squares of the open concrete were alternating with the squares of the furniture modules (boxes with doors and open shelves). In another room, I wanted to "wipe in" the 4 mini-lamps into the panel motif. For the bedroom, we chose travertine, as its color had to be gray, like the main color of the apartment. But for the relaxation zone I wanted to soften it. The soft gray travertine conveyed just the expected effect. In addition, its "natural look" was supported by the eco-theme of bamboo, "pergolas" and open stone. For the "wet zone", the baths, were chose a smoother and "wet" appearance. For the living room and the guest room, we applied Perlata in different shades of gray and rich beige. For the guest room, we wanted calm, warm, non-expressive colors, which would contrast with the bright black print. And in the living room, the tone was set by a rounded wall with decorative topix lights. I needed a texture that would play in decorative lighting. After several attempts, we reached exactly what I wanted using the texture of concrete with pointing. The design of the embroidery perfectly matched the furniture and round mini lights. And the travertine with vertical stripes supported the theme of "flowing waterfall" and turned out to be very vibrant under directed lighting. The shade of Perlata was little unexpected in big volume, but we and our customer quickly got used to it☺.
