1. Why do you use surface finishes in the interior, considering the range of other solutions available for the surface decor?

The surface finishes allow creating unique surfaces which correspond to the particular object, regardless of its scale, style and color scheme. The diversity and technical capabilities of materials expand the possibilities for creativity in projects.

Thanks to their variety, decorative plasters can be used in projects of any functional purpose and style, both the most modern and historically established ones. The surface finishes help to convey the character and imagery of the chosen style in the most extensive and vivid manner.

The Armourcoat decorative materials are fundamentally different from other brands (which allow to successfully implement other tasks for decorating surfaces). Their distinction and variety of possible applications are among their main advantages.

2. What are the advantages of using surface finishes as an alternative to natural materials?

I am all for the true materials: the tree should be made of wood, the rock – of stone, and the iron – of metal. But sometimes there is no technological and functional possibility to use natural materials (because of the installation or operating conditions) and then decorative plasters come to the aid. More often it is a question of price: you can easily compare the cost and weight of a column made of natural marble and its analog in decorative coating. And what if you need a bark of an exotic tree or snake skin? The environmental protection is also important.

3. What is your source of inspiration for using certain textures in the interior?

It is impossible to create an original space, atmosphere, character and style without enthusiasm and inspiration. For me, the source of inspiration are dreams and ideas about the customers’ object, image, lifestyle and philosophy. My passion for work is fueled by the classical music and jazz, great works of painting, graphics, sculpture and architecture, furniture, light and decor exhibitions, museums and monuments, travel and, of course, NATURE in all its manifestations.

4. What was the main task you set for the Decor Studio "Faktura.UA" regarding the decorative effects for the interior?

We had objects of various styles that required different tasks. In the modern interior it was important that the wall had a deep matte color to present a contrast to the "craquelure" technique applied on one of the walls. The classical interior required the "oldness" of the stencil drawing and the worn out general wall background. It was important that there was no sense of a "new-build" (the interior was created in the old historic building). One of the objects required the effect of the velour surface, and the other needed the old burnt brick.

Not everything turned out right away, but the perseverance and enthusiasm of the "Faktura.UA" specialists along with their willingness to deliver the desired result helped them to realize everything that we conceived. Thank you so much for that.

5. Which of the materials’ characteristics are the most important for you: technological, ecological, price, visual or any other properties?

According to the priority order: ecology, visuals, price, technology (related to price and visuals).

6. What is your opinion on the work of the "Faktura.UA" team?

For me, the main feature of the Decor Studio "Faktura.UA" creative and professional staff is their willingness to bring the work to the desired result.
