Architect Alyona Balandina about the Decor Studio "Faktura.UA":

1. Why do you use surface finishes in the interior, considering the range of other solutions available for the surface decor?

The surface finish has a much wider range of decorative possibilities, as well as fewer restrictions about the surface on which it could be applied, compared to other materials (wood, stone, etc.). And the decorative plaster is also less demanding when it comes to operation. But the most important advantage of the decorative plaster is the uniqueness of each surface, the ability to play with color and texture, and achieve the unique effect you want. Natural materials often behave in an unpredictable way; they can suffer various decorative and constructive changes due to the influence of the environment. This never happens with surface finishes; they are stable, you clearly understand what effect you will get at the end. Also, the restoration possibility is a huge plus.

2. How does the surface plaster relate to the interior’s style?

The relation is the most direct! After selecting a particular decorative effect, you can emphasize and complement the chosen style of the interior, whether it's classic, loft, Scandinavian or any other style.

3. What is your source of inspiration for using certain textures in the interior?

Of course, the main trend is set by the customer’s wishes. After all, we need to create a space in which it will be comfortable to live / work, which will correspond to its function. And having outlined a vector, generally, the inspiration comes from natural materials - wood, stone, crystalline rocks and so on.

4. What was the main task you set for the Decor Studio "Faktura.UA" regarding the decorative effects for the interior?

We had different tasks for the three rooms. In the hall area and corridor, we needed to visually expand the space so that it did not "crush", and the pearly texture of the Armourcoat Perlata helped us perfectly. We chose a cool light ivory shade and achieved the desired effect. In the kitchen and living room, the walls had to be both an unobtrusive background and a decoration of the room. We decided for the Armuralia and Pitted finishes. In light natural shades, they imitate the texture of genuine stone, and create different decorative effects under different lighting conditions.

“Faktura.UA” turned all our ideas into life. In some cases they even exceeded our expectations. I am very grateful to "Faktura.UA" for the fruitful work on the project!
